Winner: The Golden Ox Announced Best Restaurant of the Year!

IMG_2395The Golden Ox on the Redcliffe Peninsula was awarded best restaurant of the year by the Redcliffe Fine Dining Society. The highly-awarded dining establishment was named restaurant of the year by this society, which visited 12 Peninsula restaurants, one each month, throughout the year and voted for the best restaurant at the end.

“I’m very humbled by the award we received,” Head chef Peter Tzimas said, “it’s an honour, and such an encouragement to me and the entire team.”

The Golden Ox offers the freshest produce sourced from local suppliers, and there is a total commitment to excellence by the entire team, from the kitchen to the front of house. The love and professionalism they display is what sets them apart. Hospitality is in The Golden Ox’s DNA, and they pride themselves on their exceptional service and elegant atmosphere. The team were all very excited and honoured to receive this highly regarded award.

Redcliffe Fine Dining Society president mister John O’Keefe and his society members evaluate the restaurants based on food, wine, service and ambiance. They held another spectacular food and wine event at The Golden Ox on Friday, the 18th of January, which they agreed was absolutely delightful.

“The meals we received at The Golden Ox were magnificent, and thoroughly enjoyable. It was one of the most memorable I’ve had in eight years,” John said.

Over the years, the high standards of The Golden Ox have been recognized through numerous industry awards including Quest Business Achievers, Australian Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence and The Courier Mail’s People’s choice Awards. The Golden Ox is also the only restaurant on the Redcliffe Peninsula to be inducted into the Gold Hall of Fame.

The Golden Ox would like to thank their loyal guests for supporting them for all these years, and they will endeavour to always provide the same incredibly high standard of food service and ambiance, as well as further improving year by year. The Golden Ox is now in its 36th year, and with Peter Tzimas as head chef things are looking brighter than ever.
