The inaugural Moreton Bay Food & Wine Festival will bring locals and visitors to the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula where they will sip, savour, mix and mingle their way through our region’s top culinary experiences over the weekend.
The team at the multi-award-winning Golden Ox Restaurant is excited to be opening the Festival on Friday 7th September with a 5 course degustation dinner specially crafted by Head Chef Peter Tzimas and perfectly matched with Moet Henessy wines.
Kicking off the evening is the 1st course of Smoked Ocean Trout paired with Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2017. This will be followed by Goldband Snapper served with blue swimmer crab ravioli! The 3rd course is duck breast infused with tonka bean and vanilla and matched with a cheeky Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2015. Is your mouth watering yet? The meat lovers will be excited by the 4th course with a perfectly cooked Eye Medallion paired with the stylish full bodied Cape Mentelle ‘Trinders’ Cab Merlot.
Taking your time to enjoy the degustation means you will have plenty of room for the 5th and final course of a Wicked Cheese.
Whilst you enjoy the taste-sensation of every course, wines consultant David Cross from Moet Hennesy will share his extensive wine knowledge, explaining each wine in detail and why it compliments the dish it has been paired with.
You do not need to be a “foodie” or a “wine buff” to attend this event, just bring your love of fantastic food and appreciation of great wines and you will fit right in. Launching the festival this amazing 5 Course Degustation Dinner will sell out quickly.
